Scott Wilson was awarded the prestigious
title of ‘Best Investor Relations for a New Issue’ at the IR
Magazine’s UK Awards 2007.
For seventeen years, the IR Magazine awards have recognised
outstanding performance within investor relations. To decide the
winners, IR magazine commission an independent research survey
covering a broad cross-section of the UK investment community. Over
750 buy-side analysts, sell-side analysts and portfolio managers
were surveyed and the results serve as a benchmark for IR best
practice, singling out the individuals and companies that have
distinguished themselves through their IR performance over the last
year.
- NCE / ACE Consultants of the Year Awards
Scott Wilson
was awarded the prestigious title of ‘Major Firm’ at the NCE / ACE
Consultants of the Year Awards at Claridges Hotel in London on 23
March 2007.
The Major Firm category recognises growth and initiative in
business and is decided after analysing more than 300
questionnaires returned by consultants across the UK for the annual
NCE Consultants File. The consultants file researches the health
and value of the UK consultancy and engineering sector and
underlines its enormous importance to the UK economy. Scott Wilson
was among a shortlist of six finalists in its category.
- Digital Media Awards 2008
Scott
Wilson’s Digital Animators made the finals in the prominent Digital
Media Awards 2008. The team entered their innovative design package
for the Trauma Centre at The Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast
which incorporates 3d flyover animations, photomontages and
interactive DVD’s, gaining a place in the top five entries. They
also gained a Commendation for their interactive 3D model of the A6
Road Scheme which is designed using the latest design technology,
LandSIM. This event seeks to elevate awareness of the emerging
Digital Media sector in Ireland and showcase the many dynamic
entrants work across a broad spectrum of categories. This is the
first award Scott Wilson has entered as Digital Animators and is
very pleased to have been so successful out of over 350 initial
entries.
- ICE East Midlands Merit Awards 2008
Scott Wilson's planning
and design work on the A30 Bodmin to Indian Queens improvement
scheme in Cornwall was the overall winner in the Large Project
category at the ICE East Midlands Merit Awards 2008. The award
recognises the Scott Wilson’s excellent scheme design which
successfully solved a notorious road transport problem whilst
providing a significant and long lasting legacy of improvements to
the highly sensitive natural environment in the area.
Scott Wilson was
successful in gaining four awards for two schemes in the Irish
Architecture Awards 2008. Lough Key Activity Centre in County
Roscommon was Commended as an Accessibility Project and Selected
for Exhibition as a Leisure building. The Orchard Building at
Stranmillis University College was Highly Commended as a
sustainable project and Selected for Exhibition as an Educational
building.
We have been successful
in gaining 3 awards within the RICS Regional competitions. Eden
Court Theatre & Cinemas in Inverness gained a Community Benefit
Award, the Orchard Building at Stranmillis University in Belfast
was Winner of the Sustainability Category and finally White Star
House, Belfast, was awarded a Commendation in the Regeneration
Category.
Scott Wilson Group plc
was awarded the prestigious title of ‘New Company of the Year’ at
the PLC Awards in March 2007. The criteria for deciding the
winner included, going public in 2006, demonstration of both growth
and management qualities, and the potential to be a formidable
public company.
Scott Wilson won ‘Best IPO of the Year’ at the Shares
Magazine Awards held in London on the 29 November 2006.
Other Awards
Scott Wilson’s Architects have been presented with a prestigious
Award from the Royal Institution of British Architects for their
innovative and sustainable design of The Orchard Building at
Stranmillis University College in Belfast.
- Bentley Systems – BE Awards of Excellence
2007
Scott Wilson received the
prestigious Bentley Systems BE Award 2007 for Excellence in
the Civil Road Infrastructure category. Venkat Ramana Sheela from
the Scott Wilson Bangalore office accepted the award at a
ceremony in Los Angeles on 30 April 2007. The independent panel of
jurors, which included accomplished Bentley users and distinguished
industry experts, selected the winning projects from more than 280
nominations. There were 18 different projects from around the
world nominated in the civil road infrastructure category.
- The Saltire Society Civil Engineering Awards
2007
Scott Wilson gained a Commendation in the Saltire Society Awards
for Larkhall to Milngavie Reopening of the Railway Lines scheme.
This was a complex scheme and the award celebrates the skill and
teamwork of all those involved.
Scott Wilson was chosen as the Community Award Winner in the
2007 ICE West Awards for the A66 Temple Sowerby Bypass and
Improvements at Winderwath. This Award recognises a civil
engineering project that demonstrates a clear benefit to society
and improves people’s quality of life. This is particularly
applicable for the A66 Temple Sowerby project as the new bypass
allows a faster safer journey for those using the road and has also
successfully removed 95% of all traffic, completely transforming
the village.
- Global Road Achievement Awards 2007
Competition
Scott Wilson's planning and design work on the A30 Bodmin to
Indian Queens improvement scheme in Cornwall received an award at
the International Road Federation's (IRF) 2007 Global Road
Achievement Awards, winning the environmental mitigation category.
The awards, established in 2000, are designed to demonstrate
excellence and innovation in road development worldwide. The
environment mitigation category is awarded to a team that shows
outstanding progress in protecting and enhancing the natural
environment in the planning, design and construction of a road
development project. The Scott Wilson team received their award at
a trophy presentation in October 2007 in Ft. Lauderdale,
Florida.

- Robert Stephenson Awards 2007
Scott Wilson, in partnership with Balfour Beatty and Network
Rail, received a commendation for the Lancaster Road Bridge project
in Hartlepool at the 2007 ICE North East Robert Stephenson
Awards.
- Public Private Finance Awards 2007
At the Public Private Finance Awards, Scott Wilson's Project
Evergreen 2 was awarded the Best Operational Central Government
Project in 2007.
- ICE South East England Thames Valley Branch Awards
2007
The A23 Coulsdon Rail and Road Bridge won the Major Project
Category in the Thames Valley Branch of the ICE South East England
Awards 2007. Scott Wilson was the project designer.
- British Construction Industry Awards 2006
Scott Wilson's work on the Paddington Bridge in London was
recognised at the 2006 British Construction Industry Awards,
winning the Civil Engineering category.
- MP&I Excellence Awards 2006
The Mersey Loop Tunnel Slab Track scheme was nominated in the
Best Project category at the MP&I Excellence Awards 2006, the
first year of the awards designed to celebrate the outstanding
individuals and teams within MP&I.
- London Transport Awards 2006
The St Pancras Blockade Project Team, of which Scott Wilson is a
member, was awarded the title of Transport Team of the Year at the
2006 London Transport Awards.
Portsmouth Spinnaker Tower received a commendation at the 2006
IStructE Awards. Scott Wilson was the Lead Designer and Structural
Engineer for the project, which is now a key tourist attraction for
Portsmouth.
- KPMG Hampshire Business Awards 2006
Scott Wilson won the 2006 KPMG Hampshire Business Awards in
September 2006. The award recognises excellence in products and
services with a focus on the dynamic approach and innovation of
companies that operate within the county. This is the second
time Scott Wilson has won the award having previously won it in
2003. To determine the winner, the overall performance of the
company and its departments was assessed. This included past
achievements, future plans, exploitation of new markets, and a
commitment to staff needs and development. Two other key
requirements were the contribution to enhancing Hampshire’s
business reputation and protecting its environment.
- Commercial Architecture Awards
The Commercial Architecture Awards is a new concept to celebrate
quality architectural work completed within the UK commercial
sector to include offices, housing, leisure, mixed use and retail
projects. Projects are celebrated for creating innovative quality
architectural design whilst balancing the commercial needs of the
Client. Scott Wilson was presented with this prestigious award for
the design of White Star House office accommodation in Belfast’s
Titanic Quarter. It is one of only twenty buildings to
receive such an award in the UK and the only one from Northern
Ireland.

- Irish Landscape Institute Awards
Scott Wilson won the President’s Award from the Irish Landscape
Institute in 2007 for the redevelopment of Newcastle Promenade, Co
Down. The Landscape Institute Awards are presented to encourage and
recognise outstanding examples of work by the landscape profession.
The Awards aim to bring greater awareness of the best contributions
from Landscape Institute members in creating an improved
environment.
Scott Wilson was awarded the Northern Ireland Public Realm Award
in the 2007 Civic Trust Awards for the invaluable regeneration of
Newcastle Promenade, Co Down, a popular tourist destination within
the country. This award is given to the scheme that best
demonstrates excellence in design in the public realm within
Northern Ireland.

Scott Wilson was runner up in The Structural Awards for the
modern design of the £60m Belfast Cancer Centre in Northern
Ireland. The Structural Awards are the world's pre-eminent awards
for structural engineering excellence. Hosted by the Institution of
Structural Engineers since 1968, these annual awards celebrate the
work of the most talented structural designers and their
indispensable contribution to the built environment.

Scott Wilson was runner up in the Local Government News Street
Design Awards 2006 within the Waterways Category for the
revitalising design of Queen Elizabeth Boulevard in Enniskillen,
Northern Ireland. The awards seek to reward innovation in urban
street design schemes commissioned by local councils.

- RIAI – Irish Architecture Awards
Scott Wilson was rewarded with an Irish Architecture Award for
the innovative design of an Adult Education Centre in Larne,
Northern Ireland. The object of the Irish Architecture Awards is to
communicate the range, variety and quality of the architect's work
and give immediate recognition to good architecture. The project
was displayed with the RIAI Architecture Centre, which is the only
dedicated exhibition facility for architecture and design in
Ireland.

- Royal Society of Ulster Architects
The RSUA Awards promote excellence in architectural design
throughout Northern Ireland. Scott Wilson has gained a RSUA
Commendation for the design of the Royal Victoria Hospital in
Belfast which was reported as being one of the first healthcare
projects in the UK to have been completed on time and within
budget. Scott Wilson also gained a Commendation for the Belfast
Cancer Centre design in the 2006 Awards.
