Health, Safety, Welfare and Security at Work
The health, safety, welfare and security of employees and others
who may be affected by the activities of Scott Wilson are of prime
importance, and essential to the efficient operation of its
worldwide undertakings.
Whilst our health and safety management systems are based on the
requirements of the UK Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and the
Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations (1999), Scott
Wilson is committed to compliance with the legislative requirements
of all countries where it operates.
Health, safety, welfare and security at work are matters that
concern all levels of management. Through regular management
reviews and the provision of risk assessments, safe systems of
work, and by giving adequate instruction, information, training and
supervision as appropriate, Scott Wilson will seek to:-
- Ensure that health, safety, welfare and security policy is
pursued throughout the organisation;
- Deliver designs and services that will have regard to health
and safety throughout the project life cycle.
- Take reasonably practicable measures to ensure the provision of
a safe, healthy and secure working environment for all
employees;
- Take reasonably practicable measures to ensure due
consideration is given to the health and safety of others who may
be affected by its acts or omissions in the conduct of its
business.
- Continually improve our health and safety management systems
and procedures.
Whilst designated managers are tasked with specific
responsibilities, maintaining a safe, healthy and secure working
environment requires assistance from all staff. Scott Wilson
expects each employee to:
- Co-operate in implementing health, safety, welfare and security
policy;
- Comply with the relevant health and safety legislation and
standards in all countries where they are working;
- Exercise reasonable care both for their own health and safety
and for that of others who may be affected by their acts or
omissions;
- Take all reasonable precautions for their own security as
required by local conditions;
The Main Board of Scott Wilson takes an active interest in
health, safety, welfare and security at work and has assigned Hugh
Blackwood as the responsible Main Board member to ensure that the
policy is implemented, reported upon and reviewed annually
